XXVII Colóquio de Outono – Os universos de Camilo - Comemoração do bicentenário do nascimento de Camilo Castelo Branco

The XXVII Colóquio de Outono, organized by the Centre for Humanistic Studies of the University of Minho, will take place on 27–28 November 2025 at the University of Minho, under the theme “Os universos de Camilo: Comemoração do bicentenário do nascimento de Camilo Castelo Branco.” Immortalized by Amor de Perdição (1862), Camilo was far more than a writer of passionate novels: his prolific and multifaceted work includes poetry, drama, correspondence, translations, and an active presence in the press, marked by a distinctive and vigorous style. This colloquium aims to revisit the richness and relevance of his writing, exploring his impact on Portuguese-language literatures and the continuing vitality of his legacy. The event welcomes presentations in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English, gathering scholars from a wide range of national and international institutions.
