New funded project 2019-05-24
The project EURORREGION DESTINO TURISTICO INTELIGENTE, funded by INTERREG V A España Portugal (POCTEP 2014-2020), has been approved for funding. The project involves the following partners: Universidade do Minho (CEHUM, through the Research Team on Digital Humanities) / Agencia para la Modernización Tecnológica de Galicia (AMTEGA) / Agencia de Turismo de Galicia / Turismo do Porto e Norte de Portugal, E.R. / Centro de Computação Gráfica / Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo (IPVC) / The EURORREGION DESTINO TURISTICO INTELIGENTE Project aims to improve the management of tourism resources and information on tourism through ICT, transforming the current tourism model by means of innovation, technology, sustainability and accessibility in order to increase the competitiveness and profitability of the destination. EDIT intends to take advantage of the potential of technology to deepen knowledge of demand based on a greater interaction with the visitor, thus contributing to improve the decision-making process of destination managers and tourism companies on both sides of the border. The use of ICT will also allow for sustainable strategies, which highlights the need to preserve our heritage.
